Resume
Swim

I started swimming competitively only when I was 14, and can proudly say that I represented my secondary school and swim club in multiple competitions.

Am currently swimming for an external club - XLab Pro and Ngee Ann Polytechnic's swimming team.

My ultimate goal is to represent Singapore and compete at the world stage.

My music journey first started with an acoustic guitar that I begged my mum to buy me. Since then, I have gotten an electronic drum set and an electric guitar. I teach myself how to play these instruments using the internet and learning by ear.
Hobbies
I have always been keen to find new hobbies for myself.
Having activities to do during my free time allows me to distract myself from the stress that I constantly face in school and in swimming!

During the peak Covid-19 period, I had a lot of spare time to myself. Hence, I picked up painting and drawing as a new hobby, as it allows me to express my thoughts and feelings.

I always love taking photographs whenever I can. Beautiful views and calming music are therapeutic for sure!
Volunteering
I enjoy taking up volunteering opportunities and using them for self-growth. Seeing others happy makes me happy too!
Events that I have volunteered at:
2019

- 19th Warren Golf and Country Club Annual Age Group Swim Meet
- Merlion League Swimming Competition

2018

- 1st Senja Cashew Junior Swim Meet
- 6th Cross Culture Swim Meet
- 8th Senja Cashew Swim Race
- Carpe Diem Starlets Children Centre Family Day

Other volunteering projects I have taken part in:
- Raising Awareness & Fundraising for Food From The Heart (Citi-YMCA YFC Programme)
- Flyer Distributions for School-wide VIA

- School-wide Newspaper collections

What I did:
- Helping to manage swim meets
- Timing the swimmers
- Helping manage children at the Family Day event

My takeaways:
Patience is key. We had to sit under the hot sun during swim meets, and usher swimmers according to their races.
We had to have patience with children and talk to them nicely to ensure that the Family Day event goes smoothly.
